NAD Electronics Makes a Splash at ISE 2017
New MDC modules at ISE
Introduced over a decade ago, NAD’s innovative Modular Design Construction (MDC) architecture was built on the premise that customers would want their NAD AV Receiver or Processor upgraded as new technologies evolved. With NAD’s continuing commitment to the MDC architecture, Custom Installers can provide their clients with the unique offering of renowned NAD amplification and the assurance that their investment will not become outdated.
Available immediately, NAD is pleased to offer two new MDC 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) video modules – the MDC VM300 (MSRP US$599; €659; £549) for the M17, T 187, T 787 and T 777 and the MDC VM130 (MSRP US$499; €549; £449) for the T 758. The MDC VM300 and MDC VM130 bring your clients the latest Ultra HD video including HDMI 2.0b, High Dynamic Range (HDR) with full 4K at 60fps, 4:4:4 color resolution and HDCP 2.2. Using the very latest 4K video chipsets, each supports 60 frames per second (4K/60 @ 4/4/4) to fully support all current and future UHD formats.
In addition, both the VM300 and VM130 are BluOS Ready and can be enabled with the optional BluOS™ Upgrade Kit (MSRP US$199; €219; £179) to provide Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and BluOS high resolution streaming. BluOS is the operating system and music management software developed by NAD’s sister brand, Bluesound. Custom Installers can add up to 64 zones of BluOS Enabled High Res Audio music players to create an advanced high resolution audio multi-room system that can be controlled from a smartphone, tablet, or desktop computer. BluOS is also designed to seamlessly integrate with Control4, Crestron SIMPL, RTI, Push, and URC professional home control systems.
Award-Winning CI 580 Streamer, Innovative High Performance Solution for Custom Integrators
NAD Electronics, the highly regarded manufacturer of high-performance audio/video components, announced the immediate availability of their CI 580, a four-zone streamer with BluOS™ Network Music on board. Part of the company’s Custom Integrator (CI Series), the CI 580 (MSRP US$1299; € 1,449; £1,299) packs outstanding performance into 4 stereo zones in a 1U rack space to provide the most flexible, cost-effective multi-room audio package.
Custom Integrators will appreciate that up to 16 CI 580’s can be installed on a single network, all in full 24-bit resolution with sample rates up to 192kHz. Fixed or variable line outputs provide further flexibility. A system interrupt is also included, lowering volume so you can hear when the doorbell or alarm sounds.
BluOS is the operating system developed by Bluesound™ as the first High Resolution Multi-Room Wireless audio solution. BluOS features a deep integration with several of the top control systems, including Control4, Crestron, RTI and URC. Unlike other network audio solutions, BluOS has a published API that allows a more complete and sustainable integration.
Like all NAD products, the focus here is squarely on performance with DACs, OPAmps and passive circuit components selected for musical sound quality. Multiple CI 580s can be used to provide as many zones as required and Multiple Zone Groups are fully supported. CI 580 setup is dead simple using the BluOS App.
The CI 580 is the ideal solution for both new and retrofit installations that feature wired speaker home runs. While the NAD CI 980 Amplifier is the perfect companion to the CI 580, it can be easily interfaced to any quality amplifier.
“As the custom market continues to grow, NAD believes that innovative performance solutions will differentiate the true custom integrators from the less skilled tradesmen and DIY solutions coming to market”, explained Greg Stidsen Director of Technology and Product Planning for NAD Electronics. “NAD has deep roots in the custom market and our CI 580 multi-zone BluOS streamer showcases our proprietary technologies in ways that deliver valuable and tangible benefits to both the quality-oriented custom integrator and their clients.”
As part of the company’s renewed commitment to the CI market, NAD digital innovation is now available to select Custom Integrators to create the most advanced distributed High Res Audio systems. Whether the project calls for replacing an obsolete 100-disc CD changer or planning a new multi-room audio system, NAD has the perfect solution.
The NAD CI 580 was honored with a CEPro Best Award by CEPro magazine, a leading trade publication for the CI industry. The winning entries were chosen by independent voting by a panel of integrators along with the editors of CE Pro. Products were individually judged on multiple criteria including innovation, functionality, competitive advantages, benefits to the end user and benefits to the integrator.
