Meridian’s NYC Holiday Soirée & Demos

Peter Wellikoff, with the 40th Anniversary System

Meridian America hosted 125 dealers, installers, media and clients at a holiday reception in its SoHo-located New York City headquarters Dec. 8.

The company took the occasion also to demonstrate its new $100,000 40th Anniversary System, consisting of a special ruby-red-finish version of the 808 CD and Meridian Sooloos Player and a pair of DSP8000 Digital Active Loudspeakers; it is available in a limited edition of 40.

In the theater area of its showroom, which features the Meridian Reference 810 projector, demos were conducted of the company’s new entry-level theater system. At $35,000 for the package, it consists of four DSP3200 speakers, the DSP3300 center channel, and the DSW DSP subwoofer; the 3200s have been available since late spring, and the center and sub have just begun shipping.

CEO Peter Wellikoff said the company would be at the 2012 International CES at the Venetian, where it would take the wraps off three new products.
