IP networking solutions provider Luxul announced on Tuesday that it is expanding its lineup of Layer 3 switches, introducing several new models.
Among the new additions is the CMS-7048P, a 52-port stackable gigabit PoE+ L2/L3 managed switch with a 740 power budget, Luxul explained. The XMS-7048P is capable of stacking up to 16 switches (800 ports), and is ideal for use in scalable Ethernet-based HD-over-IP video distribution systems, according to the company.
"The Luxul Layer 3 switch line is designed for use in demanding video switching applications such as those offered by Just Add Power," Luxul CEO, Jeffrey Curtis, said in a statement. "The XMS-7048P is a direct response to an increased demand for more ports and greater scalability. With Luxul switches, installers can build scalable video matrices supporting dozens or even hundreds of inputs and outputs."
Luxul also will begin shipping a nonstacking 52-port gigabit PoE+ L2/L3 managed switch (XMS-5248P) and non-PoE AV series 26-port gigabit L2/L3 managed switch AMS-2600).
All three switches will be on display at Luxul’s booth at the 2015 CEDIA Expo (#4625) in the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas next week. Luxul said it expects the switches to become available on the shelves at authorized distributors’ stores later this quarter.
