Leon Speakers won an International Design Award for its Aaros 10" Ultra-Thin Sunwoofer.
Leon was given the Silver Award for Product Design in the TV, Video and Audio Equipment category, by a panel of designers and editors from the Architecture, Interior, Product, Graphic, and Fashion Design fields.
Leon's Aaros A10-UT subwoofer is only 4.5-inches deep, yet its specialized driver produces more tonal balance than larger units. It can be custom finished to add a flourish such as a black leather-wrapped baffle in a African Wenge hardwood cabinet, or a brushed aluminum baffle in a zebra wood cabinet.
"We're honored to have our work recognized globally and to receive such an important, internationally renowned award," said Noah Kaplan, President of Leon Speakers.
"As home theater moves upstairs into multipurpose living rooms, the need for refined, clean reproduction of low frequencies becomes increasingly important. The Aaros subwoofer offers extreme performance, craftsmanship and versatility, as it can be custom finished to complement any environment or simply hidden away. It was a formidable challenge to our design team, and to raw physics, to create a thin form factor subwoofer that is capable of reproducing a theater-grade experience. The success of this product in the luxury marketplace and this IDA award serve as a stamp of affirmation for our designers and craftsmen."
