Honeywell debuts new products

The company’s Total Connect Remote Services, which allow home and business owners to communicate with their security systems using smartphones and web-enabled devices, was the centerpiece of Honeywell’s presence at ISC West. The latest version of Total Connect, 2.0, includes enhanced graphics, an interactive user dashboard and simplified set-up steps. Total Connect 2.0 also provides lifestyle-enhancing features for the growing number of smartphone users.

New “connected home” products on display were included the LYNX Touch wireless control panel is the latest series of Honeywell’s self-contained intrusion systems, featuring a v4.7-inch color touchscreen display which, the company said, “provides both end users and installers very simple, intuitive user icons to navigate from user to programming screens”

The 6280 Series of Graphical Keypads provide the LYNX and Total Connect interfaces, as well as the 5800ZBRIDGE a small, easy-to-install device that lets end-users set back thermostats and turn off lights when arming LYNX Touch and new VISTA Series systems.

Distributor ADI also had an enormous booth and while their security related products were obviously in attendance, ADI also brought products from many of their more traditional home entertainment manufacturers such as ViewSonic, KEF and Mitsubishi.

There were dozens of manufacturers in mainstream custom integration that see the value in attending this fast growing trade show. Please see the accompanying slideshow for an idea of the diversity of attendance.
