Epson Intros 3D-Capable Projector Model 3010
Epson has introduced the PowerLite Home Cinema 3010, a native-resolution 1080p 3LCD 3D-capable front projector with a 2,200 Lumens specification ($1,599).
Jason Palmer, marketing and channel manager for Epson Home Entertainment, said the Model 3010’s Lumens spec is achieved through Epson’s Virtual 480Hz Drive technology, which improves light output and brightness, including overall performance in unfavorable ambient lighting conditions. He adds that it is significantly brighter than other 3D projectors on the market in its class.
The model, which features a contrast ratio of up to 40,000:1, also has two built-in 10-watt speakers. Its split screen mode permits users to watch two sources at once or watch TV and surf the Internet simultaneously. It ships with two pairs of 3D active-shutter glasses included in the price.
Other specifications include two HDMI, component video, composite video, VGA, RCA audio, and USB connections; a 230-watt E-TORL lamp that yields up to 6,000 hours of lamp life; and weight of 13.2 pounds.
The 3010 is also being made available in a wireless version (Model 3010e; $1,799; 3D glasses not included).
