ELAN’s g! Adds Chinese Language

ELAN's g! system at Buffalo Wild Wings

ELAN Home Systems said Friday that it is adding Mandarin Chinese language capability to its g! system. Chinese is the seventh language available on the system, after English, Russian, Spanish, French, Italian and Swedish.

The technology will be demonstrated at several upcoming trade shows around the world, including International CES in January.

“The Chinese market is the second fastest growing market for g! systems outside of the United States,” Paul Starkey, ELAN’s president, said as part of the announcement.

“It is about time that the g! system more completely meets the lifestyle needs of our valued residential and commercial Chinese customers. By featuring a full 5,800 simplified Mandarin Chinese character set, we will be able to meet more of our customers’ needs in the region. At the same time, we can now also support metadata from iPod and MP3 sources.”
