Apple Teams With Rovi

Apple announced Monday that it has reached a deal with Rovi to use that company’s technologies. According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple is expected to use the technology for the next edition of Apple TV, iTunes or perhaps both.

Rovi, formerly known as Macrovision Solutions before changing its name in mid-2009, manufactures content-management software and programs that work with consumer electronics products.

The news sent Rovi’s stock to a nine-year high, the Journal said.
